It Started With a Phone Call.
My sister moved to the United Kingdom a few years ago, and one day during one of our regular catch-ups she told me something that stuck with me. She told me how hard it was to find proper Jamaican products in London, how the stores that carried them were few and far between, how expensive everything was, and how sometimes she would just sit and crave a taste of home with no easy way to get it.
That conversation stayed with me. Because I knew she wasn't alone. There are hundreds of thousands of Jamaicans living across the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and beyond, all carrying that same longing. That same craving for the snacks they grew up on, the flavours that remind them of yaad, of family, of home.
And that is exactly how The Yaad Market was born.
Who We Are
My name is Abigail, and I am born and raised in Jamaica, proud of it and passionate about sharing everything our beautiful island has to offer. I am not a big corporation. I am not a cash grab. I am a Jamaican entrepreneur who took a real problem seriously and built something I genuinely believe in.
With my exceptional customer service background, I understand deeply what it means to serve people with care, professionalism, and integrity.
